SHUKER BASSES

I am thrilled to have an endorsement with Jon Shuker Basses. I have been playing for many years and really do believe that Jon's quality products are easily up in the very high end of the market, yet still offer true value for money. No ridiculous price tags and A1 after sales service. To that end, as this message goes out, I am having a very special 7 string bass made to specification by Jon. It will be tuned low F# to C. (Standard 6 string bass tuning with a string below B.) The instrument is one of Jon's singlecut designs that will employ some redesigning to get round those little bug-bears I have had with most off the shelf basses.

I am over the moon! My brand new "The Doodle" signature seven string bass by Jon Shuker has now been completed. All of the details and new photographs are contained in the BassWorld forum thread, linked above. I will be updating this page in the near future with a full 'write up' and pictures of my new Bass.

This bass is to my specification and features:-

34" Scale
Tuned F# to C (Low to high) on standard gauge strings.
2 EMG DC active pickups
EMG 18v 2 band preamp
Individual quick release monorail bridge pieces.
White Ash body with deep scoops and extended lower horn for comfort and steady playing position.
7 piece laminate Maple/Wenge neck (with strengthening inserts and dual truss rods designed to have very little bow/relief to allow for tapping and 'Chapman Stick' style playing.)
Top grade Birdseye Maple fingerboard with a high gloss lacquer finish.
High gloss Mystic 'Violet Dreams' flip paint (main colours are violet to green flip)
My custom heel cut away strengthened with neck inserts to allow full access all the way up to the 24th Fret
My design 'ramp' placed between the pickups and is height/angle adjustable.
The bass also features a personalised fretboard inlay and signed, engraved covers / headstock to finish off the 'signature' build.
